Iris "Autumn Tryst'
This Iris has a perfect name. It was indeed still blooming in November, and surrounded by a group of fellow late bloomers. Another aspect that perfectly functions in the fall is its deep purple appearance, that, on closer inspection, contains a myriad of other colors! Light pink, dark purple-blue and deep magenta are a few of them. The midrib, or the 'ongle' as the French call it is a psychedelic green and later on, when the Iris has completely opened, white petals and sepals with purple speckles take the stage. A gorgous, strong flower.Category | Colored Pencil |
